Idea for animation: You could make those tubes transparent and show some kind of a green liquid flowing into the skull, you could also make the eye spass out and look in random directions and maybe add some glow effects (for example: for the red eyes or the green fluid that I mentioned) to make it look more alive.
Not sure if this helps because I was thinking more of a GIF animation. Other than that, great art piece, reminds me a lot of WH40K :)
