Seeing Vinny play Paper Mario… dang. Just hearing the title music made me feel all warm and fuzzy. Paper Mario TTYD is a game that means a lot to me. It’s my favorite Gamecube game (with Sunshine and Monkeyball 2 close behind) and I’ve replayed it thousands of times.
The game is funny and quirky and incredibly charming, and the music always makes me smile. The characters are so unique and hilarious, and the writing is just fantastic. Hearing Vinny talk about how he forgot how much he enjoyed the game and how he kind of wanted to play it again really made me happy. This game is 40 hours maybe more if you don’t know what you’re doing. Hell, when I try to replay it, even I get lost and forget stuff due to the sheer mass of the game. It’s an RPG, what can you expect.
Once new games finally cool down, I really do hope Vinny plays this game again. There are so many potential new jokes and memes and funny voices galore. Such a fantastic game…
