i've had the displeasure of playing all of cool spot very recently, and vinny didn't even experience the brunt of it. it's one of those games where if you run out of lives, no matter where you are, you have to start from stage 1. the time limit is also really infuriating as the levels get more and more labyrinthian. also one of the stages has a repeatedly moving background that's awful on the eyes.
at least cool spot himself is the pinnacle of character design, and that isn't sarcasm on my part!
