TLDR: Art for Stranded inspired by artists with synesthesia who make art based on songs and sounds. This is my interpretation of what Stranded might look like.
This is art for Stranded inspired by synesthesia artists such a Jack Coulter who take something not quite visually tangible such as music and make it into something physical that can be observed.
I of course don’t have synesthesia, so a lot of this was trial and error, basing sounds in the song off of the Bouba/Kiki Effect, and deciding what “feels right” based on the sound of Stranded.
I don’t want to write a wall of text here so more info about the process is elsewhere if anyone is interested in reading more.
WOW, I've only experienced synesthesia once b4 and this is pretty accurate to my experience
nothing beats walking into a rave and smelling burnt minty beats tho
I do have synaesthesia and this is much brighter than my personal experience of this song. The placement of the colours and the general composition really matches my experience though -- especially the dots! I love this a lot.
