So... I haven't posted in a while. I'm awfully nervous once again hahaha. Oh dear my hands are sweating...
So um, this was something I planned since mid December of last year, and it was mainly addressed to the 2 years ago passing of the wonderful and influential rock man, David Bowie. I'm honestly quite disheartened why I didn't get into his works at an earlier time. Honestly, when I listen to his songs now, as well as happiness, there is a foreboding sadness that always envelops my mind and soul whenever it happens. I don't know why, but it's always there. It doesn't distract me from the song though, fortunately.
So with this artwork, I did in fact want to include Sponge because of his lore life with Bowie. Something I was also majorly torn on was to create three things. One was the lyric "There's are starman waiting in the sky" (tailored to Bowie), "Planet Earth is blue and there's nothing I can do" (tailored to Sponge) or a message from Sponge addressed to Bowie. I thought the message would 'ruin' the look of the image, so I cut that out, and I eventually stuck with "Planet Earth is blue and there's nothing I can do."
Call me disrespectful for putting Bowie in this situation, that's fine I can understand. But really, alongside his songs (obviously), this was one of the most memorable ways I could remember him. He played such a large role in the lore of Tomodachi, singing a song after Vinesauce exceeded their goal in the charity streams long ago, and I guess aiding with the character arc of Sponge, being his only best friend. Plus there was a whole episode dedicated to sending him to space and, ultimately, releasing him. (And obviously, he was a HUGE influence to the rock industry as well, his songs are amazing and often make me feel like I'm drifting around in space)
Sorry for this rambling, by the by. I just wanted to get it out. If you see and read this, thank you so much fore reading. I guess in some ways it gives you more perspectives into my intentions. If you don't, it's fine too. I don't expect many to read my comments anyway...
