It's not a good idea to draw with a mouse. Do you have a drawing tablet? You should get one. Most of the art here is made with drawing tablets. I would suggest getting a graphical drawing tablet. They are expensive, but worth the money.
krita and firealpaca are both free drawing programs! sai, open canvas, and photoshop are also good but they all cost money so idk.
and yes, tablets are highly recommended though not necessary (i drew with a mouse for a little over a year before making the leap when i was sure art was gonna be what i pursued)
What Cee said. I personally use Krita and have a crappy Wacom bamboo tablet. You dont need anything expensive just get something simple so you can ease yourself into drawing. From what I've heard monoprice has decent tablets for real cheap.
Thanks for the help guys, I'll definitely try to see if I can use my personal tablet for drawing, though its often not calibrated well enough. I'll also check out those programs. Thanks again.

FireAlpaca looks very good, I haven't used it before but it looks like a mix between SAI and Photoshop.
They have photoshop cs6 for free on the Adobe website, only because they don't support it anymore and it's glitchy on new OS's. But hey, it's free.
If you need to make edits on your drawings then I've heard gimp is very good.
